Head of Operations

What does this job entail?

As Head of Operations, you take full ownership of our operational departments and sites (laboratories and in vivo research facilities), working closely with highly skilled technical experts.

Your responsibilities:

  • You ensure strong alignment between departments and sites, so that processes, priorities and ways of working remain coordinated.
  • You translate the organisation’s strategic objectives into clear operational priorities.
  • You support, coach and challenge department heads in achieving their objectives and strengthening team performance.
  • You foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between teams and disciplines across the organisation.
  • You ensure the efficient use of resources, processes and budgets.
  • You drive operational excellence, with a strong focus on digitalisation and continuous improvement.
  • You ensure quality, compliance and accreditations within operational activities.
  • You monitor operational and financial performance and report on this to management.
  • You identify risks and opportunities across teams and sites.

You lead multiple teams and sites, taking on a broad leadership role with impact at both operational and strategic levels.

Your profile:

  • You have extensive experience in an operational management role.
  • You are a people manager who builds trust, coaches your team to grow, and at the same time maintains progress and momentum.
  • You respond flexibly to changing circumstances and make clear decisions.
  • You have experience with budgeting and financial follow-up.
  • You have affinity with process improvement, data analysis and digitalisation.
  • Experience with quality systems, accreditations or audits is a strong asset.
  • You think analytically and in a structured way, combined with a clear results-driven approach.
  • You communicate fluently in English; any additional language is a plus.
  • You are open to international travel.
